One trade every NFL team needs to make
By Brad Weiss
The Seattle Seahawks had a pretty good offseason so far, bringing in some talent on both sides of the ball. One of the bigger acquisitions, and I use the word big on purpose, was that of running back Eddie Lacy. The former Green Bay Packers star has battled weight issues throughout his career, but earned a bonus for weighing in under 255 pounds recently, earning $55,000.
If Lacy can keep himself in shape, there is really no reason for the team to have so many running backs. One player who could find himself on the way out is C.J. Prosise, who would be behind Lacy and Thomas Rawls on the depth chart. The Los Angeles Chargers could certainly use the help in the backfield behind Melvin Gordon, and they just may have a player the Seahawks could use.
Seattle needs more weapons on the outside, though Doug Baldwin has emerged as a legitimate star in the league. One solid player for the Chargers last season was Tyrell Williams, who came out of nowhere to become one of Philip Rivers’ top weapons. He would be a nice addition to the offense in Seattle, where Russell Wilson is one of the better quarterbacks in the NFL.
A Williams for Prosise swap makes a lot of sense, and both teams would definitely benefit from the move. Wilson needs more weapons on offense, and the Chargers have seen that Gordon has a tendency to get injured when he is run too much. Sounds like a win-win for both teams.
