2018 4th Round Pick

The Chicago Bears have made waves during the 2017 offseason, though they have been ridiculed for both of them. First, the team went out and spent a ton of money for Mike Glennon’s services at quarterback, filling a need at the position for the upcoming season. While most of his money is only guaranteed for this season, the plan was for him to become the team’s franchise quarterback for the long haul.

Well, that plan lasted about a month, as the team traded away a bunch of picks to move up one spot and selected North Carolina quarterback Mitchell Trubisky with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft. Now, it looks like Glennon will just hold the position until Trubisky is ready, which could be as early as 2018. One area they failed to address is up front on defense, where they were pushed around far too often this past season.

The New York Jets have been struggling to keep Sheldon Richardson under control for some time, as his off-the-field hi-jinx have outweighed his production on the field. He was rumored to be traded throughout the 2016 season, so it is obvious the team is looking to move him. In addition, the Jets are in full rebuilding mold, and may want to rid themselves of Richardson’s attitude.

The Bears traded away a bunch of picks to get Trubisky, but they do have a fourth rounder they could ship to New York for Richardson. The trade works for both teams, as the Jets continue to rebuild with new faces, and the Bears get a player that could make waves in the NFC North this season.
