For the Boston Celtics to have any chance of winning Game 5 and saving their season, they’ll need to be almost perfect. Even without their star, Isaiah Thomas, Boston had a real chance to even up this series going back home. But perhaps going back home isn’t the best thing for them as they haven’t played particularly well there as of late, boasting just a 5-4 record at the TD Garden in the postseason.

For approximately the first 18 minutes of Game 4, the Celtics looked like they didn’t even need Thomas. They proved they could win without him in Game 3 with a hard-fought comeback win and that momentum carried over into the majority of the first half on Tuesday night. They were sharing the ball very nicely, picking up 17 assists on 21 makes in the first 24 minutes. The problem is that they just don’t have the firepower to keep up. They don’t have LeBron James. They don’t have Kyrie Irving. And without one of the best players in the fourth quarter this season in Thomas, it’s going to be very difficult for Boston to send this series back to Cleveland.

Here’s the breakdown for Game 5 of the NBA Eastern Conference Finals.

Date: Thursday, May 25

Time: 8:30 p.m. ET

Location: Boston, MA

Oddsshark.com currently has the Cavs as a 10-point favorite in Game 5 and it wouldn’t be shocking if Cleveland wins by double that amount. They smell the blood in the water and an NBA Finals rematch with the Golden State Warriors is right around the corner.
