2. Boston Red Sox

Good lord — just imagine the things Giancarlo Stanton could do in Fenway Park with the short porch in left field. He has the most impressive pull power in baseball and would routinely slam home runs over the Green Monster, as well as bang doubles off it.

Take a look at Stanton’s spray chart from 2014 when he led the National League with 37 home runs.

Stanton could stand to gain five to 10 home runs a year just by moving to Fenway Park and the American League. He has only played three games there in his career but did homer once. Fenway Park would not put up much fight against Stanton’s power.

Financially speaking, the Red Sox would have no problem taking on Stanton’s contract. There is no immediate opening for him on the roster, but Jackie Bradley could be a part of any trade. Mookie Betts could slide over to center field to make room for Stanton in right field. When Hanley Ramirez vacates the DH slot, Stanton could move there.

Boston is more of an offseason trade destination for Stanton because there are more pressing issues for the Red Sox right now; finding a third baseman and fifth starter top the list. If Stanton is up on the block, though, the Red Sox cannot be counted out. They have the financial means, the young trade assets, and most importantly, the allure of hitting in Fenway Park to make a play for Stanton.
