No one wants to hear excuses, but Stephen Curry wasn’t himself in last year’s Finals. You could see it in the numbers, you could see it in his movements, you could see it in his body language. The Warriors were still within a Draymond Green suspension of taking the Cavaliers out, but the margin of error should be much greater this season.

Zaza Pachulia is the only Warriors currently listed on the injury report, dealing with a right heel contusion. He is expected to play in Game 1 but, honestly, the Warriors are probably better off the less time he spends on the floor anyway.

Kevin Durant missed most of the second half of the regular season but he’s looked near 100 percent during the playoffs and will have had nearly two weeks of rest by the time Game 1 tips off. And, the Finals schedule this year allows for two days off between each game. The Warriors are healthy and rested. Freak injuries can happen at any moment but they’re entering the series in as good a physical position as they could hope for.
