12. Cocky

Thanks to the Final Four run by the South Carolina men’s and women’s basketball programs this year, Cocky got a lot more air time than it typically does. This rooster is the leader in the local hen house as the alpha male.

It won’t be found on the menu at any local participating KFC, that’s for sure. Cocky is another one of those classic mascots with the real wide abdomen, that makes it look like it also joined Pistol Pete in cracking open some cold ones with the boys on Saturday.

It lives up to its name, as it isn’t afraid to show a little-needed arrogance and vanity out on the field with the football team. Like Albert the Gator, Cocky is one of those prized mascots of the SEC East.

The name is simple and is derived from the team’s name, which proves that it can always be effective to go with the easy choice. The goofiness of this rooster comes from the fact it’s a rooster and well it has the wide abdomen.

The extra pounds alone has put Cocky and others high up on this list. There is even a jersey large enough to stretch over him. How great is that?
