Simply put, Brutus is a nut. What, was the joke that bad? Anyways like Big Al and Albert the Gator playing the role of top dogs in the SEC, Brutus Buckeye is a stalwart in the land of mascots in the Big Ten Conference.

You know you have made it as a mascot when you get your own SportsCenter commercial. Brutus is up there with Puddles for competition as the most famous mascot in the NCAA. Ohio State has one of the largest followings of any sports brands, college or professional.

If your head is a giant nut, then you’re going to be on the goofiest mascots list no matter what. He’s a hard one to crack but that is the allure of this particular Buckeye. Want to know how hard Brutus is to take down?

He was once attacked by a headless Ohio Bobcats mascot and took it like a champ. Everyone wants a shot at the champ and Brutus has established himself as such. Everyone that follows the sport knows just how Brutus is.

He’s a nut, he’s a little bit crazy and he represents one of the most decorated institutions in this country. He’s a legend personified to say the very least.
