Only two AL teams have a losing record at home this season: the Minnesota Twins and Cleveland Indians. Fortunately for the Twins, they’re 14-5 on the road. That’s the fewest losses of any MLB club away from home.
The Twins swept the Orioles in Baltimore last week. Ervin Santana improved to 7-2 with a 1.80 ERA in 10 starts after he tossed a two-hit shutout in a 2-0 victory over the O’s May 23. Miguel Sano finally cooled down at the plate, but Joe Maurer, Eddie Rosario, Robbie Grossman and Brian Dozier stepped up to hit better that .300, and posted an on-base percentage better than .400. Dozier led the club with two home runs.
