As good as the Dodgers have been, they’ve managed to gain minimal ground on the Rockies in the NL West standings. Colorado owns the best record in the NL, and has spent all but two days since April 15 in first place in the division.

The Rockies have an MLB best 18 wins on the road, and have an excellent plus-45 run differential that ranks sixth in the majors. However, both the Dodgers and Diamondbacks have both outscored their opponents by more so far this season, which is a sign Colorado will face a stiff challenge for the division title over the next four months.

Remarkably, the Rockies continue to pitch extremely well. Antonio Senzatela held the Cardinals scoreless for eight innings May 26 to improve to 7-1 with a 3.19 ERA. German Marquez picked up a pair of wins in strong starts last week against the Phillies and St. Louis, respectively, and Tyler Anderson and Heff Hoffman each allowed just one run in seven innings in starts last week. Offensively, Charlie Blackmon hit .400/.419/.800 with three homers and 12 RBI in seven games – and is quietly building an MVP case.
