Kevin Durant

2017 NBA Playoffs: 25.2 points, 7.8 rebounds, 3.7 assists

If the Golden State Warriors do end up winning this series (and the next guy on this list doesn’t still get it), I think that Kevin Durant will be handed some hardware by Bill Russell as the Finals MVP. While Steph Curry is a two-time reigning MVP, I still believe that Kevin Durant is the best player on the Warriors’ roster and I think he has all the motivation in the world to play the best series of his life.

Like Curry, not only is Durant putting up points, he’s doing so at an extremely efficient rate. He’s shooting 55.6 percent from the floor in the postseason, 41.7 percent from deep, and absolutely torched the Spurs in the final two games of the Western Conference Finals, scoring 33 points in Game 3, 29 points in Game 4 and shooting a combined 21-for-32 (65.6 percent) to send San Antonio home for the summer.

Choosing whether to make Curry or Durant the number one priority is a tough choice for the Cleveland defense and I really do think it’s going to be Steph, which is going to do nothing but open up the floor for Durant. Not being able to really double anybody driving the lane because of all the perimeter threats for Golden State is going to be a problem for Cleveland, and there’s few people that can attack the rim like Durant.

He’s also the second-best defender on the team and watching Kevin Durant go at it with LeBron James is going to be a sight to see. And speaking of LeBron James…
