Carlos Carrasco

RHP, Cleveland Indians

Whichever teams ends ups winning the 2017 AL Pennant should be the favorite to win this year’s Fall Classic. It could be the reigning AL Champion Cleveland Indians for all we know. They haven’t yet hit their stride, but we know that Cleveland is talented and well-coached by manager Terry Francona.

While a 26-23 record through 49 games isn’t exactly ALCS worthy, the Indians do have another Cy Young candidate on their roster in right-hander Carlos Carrasco. He is 5-2 on the year with a 2.5 WAR. Carrasco has a 2.89 ERA and a 0.918 WHIP, while striking out 65 batters. When this Indians rotation gets going, look out, Junior Circuit.

Zack Greinke

RHP, Arizona Diamondbacks

Through the first two months on the MLB season, one of the most interesting divisions has been the NL West. The Arizona Diamondbacks look to be one of three teams in that division that could be in line for a postseason berth. A lot of their success falls on the great pitching from ace Zack Greinke.

Greinke opted to leave a good situation with the Los Angeles Dodgers for more money in free agency. With Arizona at 31-22 through 53 games, the Diamondbacks are on pace to be a top-five team in the Senior Circuit. Greinke has a 6-3 record with a 2.0 WAR. He also has a 3.24 ERA, a 0.995 WHIP and 84 strikeouts on the year.
