18. Dave Wannstedt

When Stillwater broke out shortly after the infamous Almost Famous Tour in 1973 because My Name Is Earl wouldn’t shut up about important he was to the band’s overall fabric as a foursome, Dave “Russell Hammond” Wannstedt put down his Gibson Les Paul and started slinging sliders in the back-end of the Oakland A’s.

You never see Hammond, Wannstedt and Dennis Eckersley in the same place because he’s got more personalities than Tyler Durden. While we may never which of the three is the most dominant of said personalities, we do know that Wannstedt is definitely not the alpha of the trio.

Is he a good football coach? Well, at least he’s a good coordinator and pretty fun on TV. You can tell that he’s the beta or probably the gamma of the trio because he missing a tad bit o’stache on the right part of his lip. But he’s a tough dude though. He says he’s from Pittsburgh, but we all know Troy, Michigan is secretly his home base.

“Fever Dog” is about My Name Is Earl trying to get into Hammond’s Michigander abode, but Wannstedt won’t listen no more. Whether he’s crafting some guitar solos, striking dudes out in the ninth inning or trying to win football games, Hammond/Eck/Wannstedt has an incredible mustache.
