Miami Marlins 21-30

Last week: 5-1
Last rank: 28

At last, signs of life for the Marlins! The Fish have won six of their past eight games in quite convincing fashion. These wins come with a heavy asterisk. The Marlins beat the Los Angels Angels without Mike Trout and swept the hapless Phillies.

Marcell Ozuna, not Giancarlo Stanton, has been the leader of the Marlins this year. His 2017 line is up to .321/.388/.521 with 14 home runs and 39 RBI. Ozuna, along with Christian Yelich, are the players the Marlins must build their future lineups around.

Atlanta Braves 22-29

Last week: 2-5
Last rank: 27

The struggles of Julio Teheran should have the Braves very worried. Teheran went 46-39 from 2013 to 2016 with a 3.33 ERA and 7.9 K/9. This year, the right-hander is 4-4 with a 4.82 EA and a career-low strikeout rate of 6.9 per nine. Teheran has also walked 3.8 per nine, which is equally troubling, as is his 1.8 home runs per nine.

Pitching at home has been a miserable experience for Teheran. He is 1-4 in the Braves new park with an 8.40 ERA and nine home runs allowed in 30 innings. On the road, Teheran is 3-0 with a 1.42 ERA in five starts. SunTrust Park has proven to be an extreme hitters park, and Teheran will have to make the adjustments, as it is obvious he still has the talent.
