The quarterback for the New York Giants, Eli Manning, took part in a softball game and his swing shows exactly why he shouldn’t play anything but QB.

Eli Manning’s a two-time Super-Bowl winning quarterback, leading two late comebacks over the New England Patriots. He’s the brother of Peyton Manning and the son of Archie Manning. He’s part of Football’s First Family. He’s quarterback for one of the most prestigious franchises in the NFL, the New York Giants.

He’s all of those things above, but he can’t swing a softball bat to save his life.

Landon Collins, the All-Pro safety for the Giants, held a charity softball game in Pomona, New York that many Giants’ players attended. At first, many had thought that Eli Manning wouldn’t be playing in the game, including Manning himself who showed up in a polo and shorts.

I guess they convinced Manning to get up to the plate for an at-bat. I’m sure the younger Manning has heard his name being chanted before, but the pressure was mounting. The pitch comes, Eli swing aaaaaand he hits a soft grounder to second base.

Here’s a clip of the swing below, which includes the crowd chanting for Eli, taken from USA Today’s Art Stapleton:

The New York Giants don’t have any trade value for Eli Manning if they want to ship him to any softball teams in the United States. Also, don’t expect Manning to pull a Jordan and play softball for a few years — he won’t be able to keep up.

The Giants are heading into an important season, after making the playoffs in 2016. They bring back the same key players, while also adding WR Brandon Marshall. Thank god they don’t play softball and they all play football. Eli Manning’s football game has to be better than his softball game this upcoming season if the Giants have any hope of winning a Super Bowl.
