Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid is a social media icon and a huge Real Madrid fan, so obviously, he had plenty to say after Los Blancos beat Juventus in the UEFA Champions League Final on Saturday.

Despite an early ending to his first NBA season a few months ago, Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid was still being his usual self on social media.

The hands-down rookie of the year in the NBA before tearing his meniscus later in the season, Embiid could be found watching international football on random occasions, with Real Madrid as his favorite club.

Of course, Embiid wasn’t only watching the UEFA Champions League Final on Saturday in Cardiff, Wales between Real Madrid and Juventus, he was in the house for the biggest match in Europe this year.

Let’s take a journey through Embiid’s weekend Wales, as Los Blancos capped his weekend off with a 4-1 victory over the Old Lady in the UCL Final for the club’s record 12th title and the first club to go back-to-back in the Champions League era.

Embiid didn’t play in a celebrity match on Friday before the final, but he did get his own personalized Real Madrid kit with “THE PROCESS” on the back. (Yes, this should be made available for purchase.)

Not bad seats for Embiid during the actual match on Saturday, eh?

After Cristiano Ronaldo opened the match with a beautiful goal, Mario Mundzukic leveled the match with the goal of the Champions League to make the score 1-1 at the break. In the second half, Casemiro gave Real Madrid the advantage again with a deflected strike from outside the box to give Los Blancos a 2-1 lead that they wouldn’t let go.

Embiid’s reaction to the goal was lit.

A Ronaldo brace in the Champions League final. What are your thoughts, Joel?

With Real Madrid leading 3-1 and in total control, Marco Asensio added one final dagger and sealed the 12th title for the La Liga champions. Embiid is apparently a huge Asensio fan.

For the 12th time, Real Madrid sit on top of the European football world. Joel Embiid is 12 titles behind Ronaldo’s club, but give him time.
