4. Veteran leadership

Even though he hasn’t played much in his college career and there really isn’t much tape to go off of, Malik Zaire has veteran leadership and the right attitude for the process. He’s been around quarterback battles and got to watch notable ones in his time at Notre Dame.

He knows how to prepare and what goes into being a starting quarterback. With the right mindset backing him up, it’s exactly what the Gators need right now as they wish to stay atop the SEC East and try and make a run at the conference crown.

The graduate transfer understands the little nuances of the game that a younger quarterback might not understand yet and that really goes a long way. He still has to be able to pick up the offense with the season not far off, but being older should help with that.

When the Florida Gators are at their best, it’s because the locker room is filled with strong leaders. Being one at the quarterback position is the most important thing for an offense. Zaire has the intangibles to be that.

It’s going to be a new look going up against the SEC on a weekly basis, but it is all a part of the process. The Gators wouldn’t be bringing him in if they didn’t think he could get the job done and be the man.
