4. New York Knicks

It feels like the Holiday to New York rumors have been going on forever so it was impossible to ignore this fit. The talk started way back in February when Ian Begley of ESPN brought it up in regards to the Knicks long-term answer at point guard. Since then it has been repeated seemingly weekly meaning either Holiday’s agent is doing a really good job of raising his cost or the Knicks are coming with an offer.

Now to be fair to the Knicks it would be a smart thing to do. The addition of Holiday would give the Knicks their best point guard since at least Jason Kidd and would bring the number of two way players on the roster to three. He also fits perfectly in whatever type of offensive system the team settles on. If they want to be dumb and play the triangle, Holiday’s cutting and shooting would fit perfectly. If they want to be smart (and this is the Knicks so this is unlikely) and run the spread pick-and-roll, Holiday is more than capable of doing that too.

As for why Holiday would want the Knicks, well I don’t know. He could make more money in New Orleans. He grew up on the West Coast so returning home wouldn’t explain it. There will be more wins in plenty of situations. It really doesn’t make much sense. But then again nothing regarding the Knicks has for a while now. So I guess that makes this possible.
