2. San Antonio Spurs

The Spurs and Redick make for an interesting match. Redick is an exceptional shooter and he could help juice a lineup that has become increasingly spacing starved as they move towards mid-range isolations and post-ups. Redick would probably have to take a steep discount and be willing to share backcourt minutes with Danny Green but, from a basketball perspective, it’s a great fit.

Yet my master plan crumbles if the Spurs make a hard run at Chris Paul, which they are expected to. And Paul is reciprocating the feeling as he will reportedly give the Spurs “serious” consideration in free agency.

Here’s my pipe dream: Paul goes to San Antonio. Pau Gasol miraculously opts out of his contract and saves the Spurs $16 million. Redick realizes that Paul knows exactly what he’s doing and follows him to San Antonio. Sadly, that will probably not happen, but if Paul chooses the Clippers, Redick and the Spurs should look at each other.
