Indoor football player Damond Powell flagged for pooping the football

An indoor football player took a flag for pooping out the football.
Damond Powell of the IFL’s Cedar Rapids Titans came up with a touchdown celebration that would have likely gotten him banned from the NFL.
According to Timothy Burke of Deadspin, Powell received a pass and took the football 35 yards to the end zone to tie up their game against the Arizona Rattlers 13-13.
But it was after the play that would make the rounds of the sports world.
After receiving the catch, Powell went to the back of the end zone, squatted, and perceived to “poop out the football.” While it may have entertained to his teammates, Rattler fans (many of whom had kids with them) and the refs were not amused.
Powell would get hit with a 15-yard penalty for pooping out the football (technically excessive celebration, but pooping out the football sounds better), which may have come back to haunt the Titans.
If you haven’t heard of the IFL, and let’s be honest, you probably haven’t, it’s the Triple AA league of the Arena Football League. The League was created out of a merger of two other indoor football leagues, and the league’s schedule is played out in much the same fashion as the AFL and the NFL.

The Titans needed something like this, as their season hasn’t gone quite well. They’re just 1-10 on the season and has one of the worst defense in the IFL. So with virtually nothing to play for other than a paycheck, the Titans couldn’t care less if Powell was flagged for pooping out the football.
To them, that may have been the ultimate highlight of their season, one which positive highlights have been few and far between for the boys from Cedar Rapids to enjoy.
We hoped Powell washed his hands afterward, though.
