What channel are the Tony Awards on? We let you know where on TV you can watch the 2017 Tonys and tune in to Broadway’s biggest night live.

What channel are the Tony Awards on? Theatre fans will be tuning in on Sunday night to watch the 2017 Tonys and find out who takes home the awards on Broadway’s biggest night. So where do you need to go to watch the awards ceremony?

The 2017 Tony Awards are on CBS at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on Sunday, June 11, 2017. Kevin Spacey is hosting this year’s Tonys, just before he brings his one-man show about the life and career of Clarence Darrow to New York’s Arthur Ashe Stadium. Spacey won a Tony Award in 1991 for his work in Lost In Yonkers, and was nominated again in 1999 for The Iceman Cometh.

If the channel the Tonys are on sounds familiar, that’s because it is if you’re a regular awards show viewer. CBS plays host to the Grammy Awards every year and also broadcasts a number of Grammys-related specials throughout the season, including tributes to The Bee Gees, The Beatles, and Frank Sinatra.

The Tony Awards have been on CBS since 1978. That’s the longest that they’ve been broadcast on any one network; the first time the Tonys were shown on TV was in 1967 on ABC, followed by the 1968-1970 ceremonies on NBC and the 1971-1977 shows back on ABC. But now the Tonys have found a home on CBS.

Last year’s Tonys, hosted by Late Late Show host James Corden, drew in almost 9 million viewers to CBS. That was the biggest audience since 2001. Will Kevin Spacey be able to beat that number in 2017? You’ll have to tune in to CBS on Sunday to find out.
