Milwaukee has been far from dominant over the past four weeks, and hasn’t won a single series since mid May, but the Brewers have kept the Cubs at bay and are still the leaders in the NL Central. The Brew Crew split four games at home against the Giants and lost two of three in Arizona over the weekend, but Chicago’s three losses in four games against the Rockies helped preserve first place for Milwaukee.
Travis Shaw was held to just two games while on paternity leave, but Hernan Perez led the squad with three home runs and four RBI. Chase Anderson and Junior Guerra each made two strong starts with Anderson shining brightest while allowing just one run over 13.2 innings.
