DraftKings fantasy golf picks: US Open 2017
$7,000 and below
Francesco Molinari ($7,000)
How they priced Francesco Molinari at this point is beyond me. He’s made 11-of-12 cuts and has finished just once outside of the top-25 in his last nine tournaments. This is a bonafide steal.
Charley Hoffman ($7,000)
Ever the veteran, Charley Hoffman has been playing steady golf all year. The 17-year pro has missed just one cut in his last nine tournaments and has four top-25 finishes over that run. He could be a steady hand at the unpredictable Erin Hills.
Byeong-Hun An ($6,800)
The run that Ben An has been on thus far in 2017 has been exceptional. He’s not missed a cut yet, and his last four tournaments have seen him post four top-25 finishes, two top-10s and a top-five. This is a steal.
Bryson DeChambeau ($6,800)
2017 has been a year to forget for Bryson DeChambeau as he’s missed the cut more often than not. With that being said, he’s played this course before as an amateur, doing exceptionally well. What’s more, he performed solidly to qualify for the US Open.
Jamie Lovemark ($6,800)
Known as a big-hitter off of the tee, Jamie Lovemark has played quite well, and took a week off to prepare for the US Open. As such, he could be a tremendous value play on DraftKings.
Stewart Cink ($6,800)
Stewart Cink has made 8-of-10 cuts in his last 10 tournaments. In that stretch, though, all eight of his made cuts have resulted in top-30 finishes. What’s more, that includes two top-10s in his last three outings. He’s a veteran with a steady presence that should show up well.
Jimmy Walker ($6,700)
Though Jimmy Walker has been battling Lyme disease, which has kept him out of action for over a month now. However, he’s been in goof form for the most part in 2017, including a T18 at The Masters.
Pat Perez ($6,600)
Pat Perez has been one of the best stories of 2017. Though he missed the cut at the DEAN & DELUCA, his other three tournaments in his last four outings include a T19 at the Memorial, a T22 at THE PLAYERS and a T2 at the Wells Fargo. He could continue that at the second major.
Graeme McDowell ($6,600)
I’ve championed Graeme McDowell and his consistency and he’s yet to let me down. He’s made 12-of-13 cuts this season and only one of those 12 finishes was outside of the top-30. He’s incredibly steady at this price point on DraftKings.
Ross Fisher ($6,600)
Both on the PGA Tour and in Europe, Ross Fisher has been putting on a solid showing in 2017. Though he was cut at THE PLAYERS, he’s registered three top-10s this season and made the cut is six of his last seven events. He’s a nice value here.
Brian Harman ($6,600)
Despite being cut at the Memorial, Brian Harman has played well of late. In his previous four tournaments, he registered three top-10 finishes, including a win at the Wells Fargo. This could be great DraftKings value.
Chris Wood ($6,500)
Playing predominantly in Europe this season, Chris Wood has been on a tear of late. Since being cut at The Masters, he’s registered two top-five finishes in his last three tournaments.
Jonathan Randolph ($6,400)
Randolph’s last two outings are less than inspiring given the fact that he finished 86th at the St. Jude and was cut at the AT&T Byron Nelson. With three top-30 finishes and a top-10 in his three outings prior to that, though, he’s capable of well outplaying his price.
