Atlanta Falcons: Will Atlanta get back to the Super Bowl in 2017?

The biggest storyline for the 2017 Atlanta Falcons is obviously how does this franchise come back from blowing a 25-point lead in Super Bowl LI. While that catastrophic of a loss would ruin most teams, possibly the 2017 Falcons, there is a sense that this organization is taking the defeat in stride and has honestly moved on.

Atlanta has a first-place schedule, but once again looks to be one of the four to six best teams in the NFC. The Falcons are probably the favorite to win the NFC South this year. They went 11-5 a year ago with a historically dominant offense and a shaky up-start defense. In short, this is a team that will likely finish somewhere in the 9-7 to 12-4 range and qualify for the NFC Playoffs.

Not would not making the NFC Playoffs be a disappoint for Atlanta, but not winning at least a postseason game or two would echo that sentiment. Since they return much of the roster from last year, does Atlanta have what it takes to get back to the Super Bowl this winter?

Atlanta will have to adapt to two new coordinators: offensive coordinator Steve Sarkisian and defensive coordinator Marquand Manuel. We should expect a slight regression offensively, but continued growth from Dan Quinn’s defense. Again, it’s all about matchups. For that reason, Atlanta is one of six or eight teams that can reach and win Super Bowl LII in Minneapolis next February.
