9. Jose Bautista: Bat Flip

It’s not even remotely debatable. Right fielder Jose Bautista is the most impactful player to have played for the Toronto Blue Jays since Baseball Hall of Fame second baseman Roberto Alomar. Though he may not ever join Alomar in Cooperstown, Bautista has the bat flip to rival Joe Carter’s supreme excellent back in 1993.

We could go a lot of ways to put nicknames on the back of Bautista’s jersey. Joey Bats is too dumb and obvious. He could also go with something Drake related like Baseball Drake, Drake, or DeGrassi, but not everybody would get it. Basically, he just needs to go by Bat Flip and see if he can get away with it during Players’ Weekend.

Ever since David Ortiz retired, baseball has not had its healthy supply of bat flips. So what if it shows up a picture that didn’t do his job by grooving a weak fastball down the middle of the plate? We should let Bautista to be the CEO of baseball bat flips now. He’s earned it and he should wear Bat Flip on the back of his Jays thread to flex his dominance.

Of course, there is the chance that Bautista could go in an 0-14 hole during Players’ Weekend and strike out seven times, but whatever. Let’s just say he cranks one out of a ball park to break that slump. You better believe Bat Flip will be bat flipping.
