 3. Washington Redskins

The Washington Redskins have had something to prove since Dan Snyder bought the team in 1999.  For decades, the Redskins have frustrated fans, whose perennial mantra is “This will be the year.” Unfortunately, it never is.

The Redskins not only have the most to prove, they have the most things to prove. Can they make the playoffs? Can they manage player contracts properly? Can they make smart investments? Can they serve their fans beer that isn’t expired?

Could the 2017-18 season be the year for the Redskins? If “the year” means winning the Super Bowl, chances are slim. If “the year” means that the team is well-coached and makes smart investments in players, chances are slightly higher.

Currently embroiled in Kirk Cousins contract drama, the team needs to cement a deal with their quarterback quickly to avoid having to slap a second franchise tag on the man that is supposed to be the future of the team.

What can fans expect from a team that brought us the Albert Haynesworth Worm? As Redskins fans, they expect a Super Bowl ring, or at least hope that the team is not a dysfunctional, frustrating mess known for snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.
