Colorado Rockies 42-26

Last week: 4-3
Last rank: 3

Greg Holland’s signing with the Rockies will go down as one of the greatest low-risk/high-reward deals in recent MLB history. Holland leads MLB with 23 saves and has a 1.14 ERA. He may have lost a tick or two on his fastball after Tommy John, but has just as much bite as ever on his slider.

Major props go to the Rockies front office, a group that took some ribbing for the Ian Desmond contract as well as the Gerardo Parra deal last winter. Everything the current executive group has touched has turned to gold this season and the Rockies look like legitimate World Series contenders.

Los Angeles Dodgers 41-25

Last week: 5-0
Last rank: 4

Cody Bellinger has been the spark the Dodgers needed to kick their season into high gear. Since his arrival at the end of April, they have the best record in MLB at 31-14.

Bellinger is hardly the only member of the Dodgers contributing at a high level. Kenley Jansen is having one of the greatest seasons ever by a relief pitcher. He has an FIP of 0.41 and has not walked a single batter in 26.2 innings of work. Jansen is also striking out 14.9 per nine. That Clayton Kershaw guy is pretty good too.
