Chicago White Sox 28-36

Last week: 3-4
Last rank: 24

Avisail Garcia is officially not regressing to the mean. He has run his line up to .339/.378/.556 with 16 doubles, three triples, 10 home runs, and 48 RBI. Garcia has batted .367/.392/.592 in June. His name had always come up around non-tender time for the White Sox, but he is delivering a season for the ages and will make his first All-Star team.

Surprisingly, the White Sox have not been as terrible offensively as expected. Matt Davidson has also provided some decent power. Jose Abreu’s power numbers continue to decline, but he is batting close to .300.

New York Mets 30-34

Last week: 5-2
Last rank: 23

In a season full of disappointment for the Mets, let’s pause to appreciate the MLB career of Curtis Granderson, who just hit his 300th home run in the big leagues. The Grandy Man is not having a good year, but his career has been impressive on many levels.

Over 14 years in the big leagues, Granderson is a .254/.339/.471 hitter with the 300 home runs and over 1,600 hits. He has also stolen 148 bases and been named to the All-Star team three times with two 40-homer seasons. Granderson will also always be remembered for his contributions off the field.
