Braun Strowman was supposed to be out for six months, but no one told him as he returned on WWE RAW to take out Roman Reigns and make a match

All signs at one point seemed to be pointing to a huge Braun Strowman vs. Roman Reigns showdown this summer. However, when Strowman showed up a little more than a month ago on WWE RAW with a sling, that seemed in jeopardy. And sure enough, it was then announced that the Monster Among Men would be out 4-6 months following surgery.

The thing about monsters is that they are notoriously hard to set injury timetables for. Subsequently, the 4-6 month outlook for Strowman was quite the overestimate.

On the June 19 episode of WWE RAW, Reigns and Samoa Joe were put into a match. A bout between the Big Dog and the No. 1 Contender got underway and, go figure, Reigns appeared to have the upper hand. Then the Titantron showed an ambulance in the back at one of the loading docks. And who should bust open the doors of the emergency vehicle but Strowman in all his monstrous glory:

Strowman’s return well ahead of schedule caught Reigns off guard, allowing Joe to pick up the win. However, his pain and suffering weren’t done there as Strowman made his way out to the ring. Once there, he further beat down Reigns, and then said he’s see him at the upcoming Great Balls of Fire. And getting a rare bit of continuity on the show, it’ll be an Ambulance Match at the pay-per-view:

The first time these two met in just a regular singles match, it was a brutal affair. Now that it’ll be Braun Strowman vs. Roman Reigns in an Ambulance Match, the carnage is inevitable. Considering it joins Samoa Joe challenging Brock Lesnar on the Great Balls of Fire card, a show with few expectations is taking shape nicely.
