3. Miami Heat

The Bulls and Miami Heat are in similar situations this offseason. While the Heat just missed out on the playoffs last year, they are between trying to contend and bottoming out. Knowing Pat Riley, it would make sense that the Heat take a run at Gay and go forward with a core of Goran Dragic, Dion Waiters, Hassan Whiteside, and Rudy Gay. He would slot in nicely along those three and the Heat would still have a potent bench with the Tyler Johnson, Justise Winslow and Jason Richardson.

Reports have linked Gay to Miami many times in his career, so it makes sense that as he is in the last phase of his career where he could earn a big contract, Gay could finally take his talents to South Beach. The core Miami team is a No. 5 seed at best with Gay, so it might not be moving to a “contender,” but at least Gay would be making the playoffs and not getting swept in the first round.
