Knicks Get
Isaiah Thomas and future draft pick
Celtics Get
Kristaps Porzingis

The Celtics have more assets than any team in the league and could actually offer the Knicks fair compensation for Porzingis. However, let’s have some fun with this. Instead of just adding all young pieces, let’s give the Knicks a win-now player and future draft pick. Phil Jackson’s job has to be on the line if he misses the playoffs again, remember? Jaylen Brown, Jae Crowder, Avery Bradley, and the third pick in the 2017 NBA Draft could all potentially be in play but let’s just go with Isaiah.

Trading for Isaiah Thomas gives the Knicks a franchise point guard who scored 28.9 points per game leading the Celtics to the first seed in the East. The downside to Isaiah is he comes in as a one-year rental and will likely command max money. I know one person that would give Isaiah max money! Phil Jackson would likely pay Isaiah as he is desperate for a point guard to run his triangle offense.

Celtics general manager Danny Ainge has hoodwinked executives in the past. Remember when he traded dinosaurs Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett for Brooklyn’s entire farm of draft picks? Remember when Danny Ainge literally traded a bag of potato chips for Isaiah Thomas? Don’t put anything past Trader Danny, he appears to have the best chance for trading for Kristaps Porzingis at 20 cents on the dollar. Head coach Brad Stevens would also get the most out of Porzingis and turn him into an All-Star immediately.
