Evgeni Malkin will surely miss his friend and former teammate Marc-Andre Fleury, as the goalie was drafted to the Vegas Golden Knights on Wednesday.

Grab the tissue box whether or not you’re a Pittsburgh Penguins fan, as this Instagram post will hit you right in the feels if you’re going to miss Marc-Andre Fleury in net.

Fleury was drafted in the 2017 NHL Expansion Draft by the Vegas Golden Knights, as the team received the former Penguins goalie and a draft pick for taking Fleury onto their roster from the Penguins. Fleury waived his no-movement clause to make the deal possible, and it helps to rid some cap stress from the Penguins’ payroll.

Penguins fans and players alike weren’t happy to see Fleury leave their roster, as he was a big part of the team’s three Stanley Cup runs over the last decade, including his role as a starter for their win in 2009. Penguins forward Evgeni Malkin was especially upset, and he posted a heartfelt goodbye on his Instagram, wearing a Fleury jersey with the words “My MVP” posted over Fleury’s name.

The Penguins added in some goodbye love for their former netminder, as they posted a tribute video on Twitter to Fleury for all he did in his time in Pittsburgh.

Fleury at least got a nice parting gift from Malkin and the Penguins, and the gift went both ways in the end. The team won their second straight Stanley Cup, and Fleury had to step in as the team’s goalie when starter Matt Murray went down with an injury to start the postseason.
