NFL mock draft: SEC stars get moved around
By John Buhler
The 2017 Indianapolis Colts were once again knocking on the doors of getting back into the AFC Playoffs, yet, the 8-8 streak continues for a third year. Quarterback Andrew Luck threw at least 10 interceptions that Indianapolis fell to pieces over. The guy still needs help in terms of protection.
While the Colts are starting to get their offensive line sort of right with Anthony Constanzo, Ryan Kelly and Jack Mewhort, they need one more piece to get them over the top. Why not take a flier on a guy that can play both tackle or guard spots in former Ole Miss Rebels standout Laremy Tunsil?
Tunsil will do better this time around in the draft process, as won’t be your neighborhood friendly gas man this go around. No random iPhone from the Oxford area is going to bring him down. Tunsil to the Colts would help give Luck the closest thing to competent offensive line he’s had since arriving in Indianapolis in 2012.
He would likely play guard at first for the Colts, but will pressure presumably Mewhort for playing time on the outside. Either way, this is the type of nondescript draft pick that the Colts need to make at No. 17.
Are we sure they’re aren’t the Dallas Cowboys hovering around .500 in perpetuity? The Denver Broncos are now on the clock…
