Both Cameroon and Australia will be looking to secure their first points of the 2017 Confederations Cup on Thursday as both sides fell in their opening Group B matches.

Cameroon lost 2-0 on Sunday to an Alexis Sanchez-less Chile. They gave up two late goals to Eduardo Vargas and Arturo Vidal. The Indomitable Lions are currently in last place in Group B thanks to goal difference. they will need to get some kind of result on Thursday to keep their hopes of advancing to the knockout stage alive.

Australia found the back of the net twice on Monday against Germany thanks to goals from forwards Tommy Rogic and Tomi Juric. Unfortunately for the Aussies, the Germans — who are without most of their big stars — scored three times, including a penalty from 23-year-old captain Julian Draxler.

With Chile and Germany sitting atop Group B, a draw likely will not be good enough for these two sides. With that in mind, expect both Cameroon and Australia to push forward and get as many shots on goal as possible.

Germany and Chile play later the same day. The result of that match will go a long way in deciding who wins Group B, and in deciding who will not make the cut. Cameroon and Australia each need a little luck.
