Conor McGregor in WWE? Genius.

Reason No. 2: Giving Conor McGregor a live microphone in a wrestling ring is the definition of making money

Anyone who’s ever heard Conor McGregor speak before knows that Conor McGregor loves nothing more than to get a crowd riled up talking about Conor McGregor. He truly believes he’s God when he’s in front of a camera and if you ask anyone in Ireland, they won’t disagree with that.

WWE stands for World Wrestling Entertainment. Entertainment. Who is more entertaining with a microphone in his hands these days than Conor McGregor? Acceptable answers to this question could be J.R. Smith, Joel Embiid and Richard Sherman, but McGregor trumps everyone in terms of speaking in front of cameras and a big crowd.

If McGregor was given a microphone to talk some trash, the censor guys in the truck would have to be ready and Kevin Dunn would be sweating through his $600 shirt, but it would be comedic gold knowing how much McGregor wanted this fight with Mayweather. Hell, even let him put up some of his “Floyd Sr.” jokes from social media on the Titantron. He’d have everyone laughing and Vince McMahon counting money at his home back in Connecticut.

Plus, if WWE was able to do this in a hardcore city for wrestling like Chicago, Philadelphia, New York, etc., you’d have a lot of hardcore mixed martial arts, boxing and wrestling fans all in the house for the show listening to McGregor trash anything and everything, along with not knowing what’s going to come out of his mouth. That’s a billion-dollar idea, Vince and Hunter.
