FanDuel WNBA daily fantasy picks: Friday, June 23
Forwards
Brittney Griner – Phoenix Mercury ($9,000): Brittney Griner is good, in case you weren’t aware. She is an absolute monster who can score, rebound, block….she does it all. We don’t need to really get into specifics about her at this point, do we? People who are going to win on Friday will have her in their daily fantasy lineups. I know I will. Also, for a nice one-two punch, Camille Little ($4,000) is another player who can provide much needed cap relief. Over the past three games, Little has averaged nearly 22 fantasy points. If she hits that again, you will definitely have gotten a good return, which can happen especially if they continue to ask more from their bench in Danielle Robinson’s absence.
Sylvia Fowles – Minnesota Lynx ($9,000): Everything that was just stated about Brittney Griner is true about Sylvia Fowles. While we are at it, stacking the underpriced Maya Moore ($6,800) and Rebekkah Brunson ($5,600) against a Washington team that is third-worst in the league in opponent offensive rating will pay off. The Mystics are having consistent issues as of late, as evidenced by a recent loss to the Wings. Minnesota will come in fired up after recently losing to Connecticut. Take advantage and get these ladies into your lineup.
Jonquel Jones – Connecticut Sun ($7,900): Maybe the only player who has found consistent court time regardless of injuries for Connecticut is the WNBA rebounding leader, Jonquel Jones. She has been so good in fact that she is the only player in the league who averages a double-double so far this season with 15 points and 12 boards per game. Even if Lynetta Kizer and Morgan Tuck do play, she is still a good option. If those two are out, as in the case with Courtney Williams and Jasmine Thomas, you can benefit from also picking up Alyssa Thomas ($6,600).
Next: Every WNBA team, ranked by the altitude of its nickname
Damiris Dantas – Atlanta Dream ($5,100): Damiris Dantas has really benefited from the absence of Sancho Lyttle. Since Lyttle’s injury, Dantas has averaged 16 points and six rebounds per game over 33 minute. Keep her going as long as Lyttle is out of the equation, especially against Chicago. Elizabeth Williams ($5,300) will also continue to see an expanded role with Lyttle out but I still favor Dantas.
