National League Division Leaders

NL East

Washington Nationals (45-30, .600)

The Nationals posted a .500 record last week and still hold the largest division lead in the National League, nine games ahead of the Braves. Leadoff man Trea Turner was 5-for-5 at the plate and scored four runs in Saturday’s 18-3 win over the Reds, becoming the first player to accomplish the combo since the franchise moved to Washington, according to Elias Sports Bureau. Former Expos outfielder Tim Raines did it for the franchise in 1987.

NL Central

Milwaukee Brewers (41-37, .526)

The Brewers held on to first place in the division despite a losing record last week, and missed opportunity to pad their lead against sub-.500 competition. Milwaukee split a four-game series at home against the Pirates, and lost two of three games in Atlanta over the weekend. Led by Zach Davies’ seven shutout innings and Travis Shaw’s 15th home run of the season, a 7-0 win Sunday saved the Crew from a sweep.

NL West

Los Angeles Dodgers (51-26, .662)

After nearly three months of looking up at the Colorado Rockies in the NL West standings, the Dodgers have surged to the top thanks to a 10-game winning streak and 16 wins in 17 contests. The Los Angeles lineup has been red-hot, and seven players hit .300 or better last week. Cody Bellinger homered twice Sunday and five times in seven games. Justin Turner, like Bellinger, had 10 hits, and Corey Seager hit .563/.588/1.188 with three home runs (all in one game) and seven RBI.
