Bojan Bogdanovic

Shooting Guard, Washington Wizards

When the Wizards traded with the Brooklyn Nets for wing Bojan Bogdanovic, Washington had to have felt confident about re-signing the sharpshooter this summer in his free agency.

Given that this is an incredibly shallow wing class, expect Bogdanovic to make more than the $3 million and change he did in 2016-17 split between the Nets and Wizards. Bogdanovic is a restricted free agent, which is both good and bad for the Wizards. They can match any offer he would garner on the free agency market. However, Bogdanovic is a prime candidate to land an eight-figure salary from a bad team this summer.

Washington realizes that it has to win in restricted free agency this summer. Re-signing Bogdanovic has to be massively important to the organization. He can absolutely start in a bind for the Wizards, but would be an outstanding player coming off the bench for them as a scoring threat.

In 2016-17, Bogdanovic averaged 13.7 points, 3.4 rebounds and 1.4 assists in 81 regular season games. He shot 44.5 percent from the field, 36.7 percent from beyond the arc and 89.3 percent from the charity stripe. Bogdanovic will make whatever team he goes to better. Will Washington be willing to overpay to keep him is a bigger question.
