Austin Rivers

You can’t have a beer league softball game without a little bit of daddy ball. That’s just part of what comes with trying to play baseball. Austin Rivers bats leadoff and plays shortstop because his dad Doc Rivers is reluctantly this team’s coach.

Rivers will strike out at least once a game. Keep in mind that this is beer league softball and that should not happen. Like J.J. Barea, Rivers is a bit of an error machine at shortstop. Boogie Cousins HATES trying to scoop all the flashy throws from Rivers that don’t quite make it to first.

Rivers did walk the bases loaded that time he had to pitch for three straight innings before he was reluctantly pulled. The team is getting by with all of this nonsense strictly because of the ample supply of brews in their coolers. There is nothing worse than seeing a beer league softball pitcher walking the bases loaded in the hot summer sun.

Preferential treatment is part of little league and apparently beer league softball now. The other 14 players kind of really hate it, but are dealing with it. Jared Dudley is keeping this team together emotionally as he constantly ices his leg after getting hurt. Joel Embiid’s passive aggressive tweets about his beer league softball experience has the internet in stitches.
