Dennis Schroder

You can never have too many fast guys and middle infielders. Atlanta Hawks point guard Dennis Schroder may not have played the game growing in up Germany, but he surprisingly is one of the quickest learners on the field. He stills gets to sling towels and cheer his teammates on, but he’s pushing for some serious playing time at short-stop.

Schroder is one of only maybe three players on this team that can hit Boogie Cousins in the chest on a throw to first. Add in that he’s adept at fielding ground balls and is the only guy on the team that actually likes to hold runners on at the second base bag, it’s easy to see why he’s close to a top-five player on this team.

Schroder leads the team in slap hits and drag bunts. He offers zero power at the plate, but that is by choice. He has clearly channelled his inner Ichiro better than anybody on the team. Schroder will occasionally rip it down the field on a moonshot that nobody saw coming.

Extremely antagonistic while covering second base, Schroder has to be told to lay off several times by the umpire for being a bother. Schroder has a slightly above average arm, but slightly below average range. He tried to do the Wizard of Oz backflip one time and the result was gnarlier than the old Busch Stadium astroturf.
