15 NBA players you’d like to have on your beer league softball team
By John Buhler
Kevin Love
The Cleveland Cavaliers just don’t know what to do with him, but Kevin Love is perfect for this beer league softball team. He is the team’s second-best player, will start at the hot corner and bat third in most instances. There is really nothing Love can’t do on the baseball diamond.
While he lacks the lateral quickness to be a great defensive player in the NBA, Love being 6-foot-10 and all makes him have incredible range at field hot shots coming down the third base line. He has a total hose from across the diamond, usually hitting Boogie Cousins in the chest with throws because Cousins isn’t down with scooping the baseball.
Love is the only guy on this team that is comfortable enough to actually switch hit. He is a double-machine and drives in all the runs that this team needs to win ball games, Occasionally, Love will get cocky and try to bring the outlet pass to the baseball diamond. He will miss the cutoff man every time on purpose when he has to play in the outfield.
Love rarely plays in the outfield, but leads the team in assists. He’s probably the only guy on this team besides his manager that really hates losing. Is Love taking his beer league softball experience a tad too seriously? Sure, but he’s really good at beer league softball and his team thanks him for it.
