Michael Crabtree

Wide Receiver, Dallas, Texas

Well, the Washington Redskins finally did it this offseason, signing quarterback Kirk Cousins to a long-term deal. The team now heads into the 2018 season with stability at the quarterback position, and for Cousins, he now has the contract he deserves. The 2017 season was a tough one in our Nation’s Capital, as the Skins failed to make the playoffs for the second season in a row, but help is on the way.

During his time with the Oakland Raiders, Michael Crabtree has established himself as a big-time playmaker. His play helped the Raiders reach the AFC Championship Game in 2017, though he had some drops in the game against the New England Patriots. With the No. 14 overall pick, the Redskins decided to bolster their wide receiver group, and Crabtree will head right to the top of the depth chart.

Prior to the 2017 NFL season, the Redskins said goodbye to not only DeSean Jackson, but also Pierre Garcon, two of Cousins’ favorite targets. They brought in Brian Quick and Terrell Pryor to shoulder the loss of those players, but they were only so productive in their first seasons in Washington. Cousins needs a more reliable option at the position, and Crabtree can certainly supply that order.

Washington was young on defense in 2017, and they should be much better in 2018. The NFC East has become one of the stronger divisions in football, but with a solid 53-man roster heading into the season, the Redskins should be able to challenge for a playoff spot this upcoming season.
