Martellus Bennett

Tight End, San Diego County, Texas

The Denver Broncos went with both Trevor Siemian and Paxton Lynch at quarterback during the 2017 NFL season, but the result was mostly the same. The Broncos just missed the playoffs, and there is starting to be some unrest among the Broncos faithful. Losing Emmanuel Sanders earlier in this draft is going to hurt the offense, but they are bringing in a player who could shoulder some of that load.

Martellus Bennett seems to get better with age, and has played with two of the best quarterbacks to ever do it the last two seasons. After winning a Super Bowl with New England following the 2016 NFL season, Bennett went back to the big game in 2017, but lost to those same Patriots as a member of the Green Bay Packers. He will head to Denver to catch balls from Trevor Siemian, who will not be looking over his shoulder in 2018.

Fellow quarterback Paxton Lynch will go to the New England Patriots at No. 32 in this draft, so the team is Siemian’s, for better or worse. Bennett is going to help the young quarterback a ton in the passing game, and he is coming off of a double-digit touchdown season in Green Bay last season. Denver is going to have some rough sledding in 2018, but a veteran like Bennett is great to have on the roster.

Denver is always going to play defense, even though they lost Von Miller earlier in this draft. This team lost two elite players in his draft, and with the AFC West being so tough, they are going to need a big year from Siemian in 2018. Expect Bennett to produce, but fail to reach the Super Bowl for the third straight season.
