Terrance Williams

Wide Receiver, Dallas, Texas

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers once again barely missed out on the playoffs in 2017, but all the indicators are that they will be there in 2018. Quarterback Jameis Winston continues to develop as an elite signal-caller in the league, but his production may take a hit with Mike Evans getting selected No. 2 overall by the Los Angeles Rams. However, the Bucs will try to fill that void with another Texas-native, one who has been very productive the last two seasons.

Terrance Williams is the second Dallas Cowboys wide receiver to be drafted in the round, and will head to Tampa Bay coming off the best year of his career. Williams eclipsed the 1,000 yard mark for the first time in 2017, and will slot well with DeSean Jackson in Tampa Bay. Jackson had a stellar first season in Tampa Bay in 2017, and with the addition of Wiliams, the Bucs should still be solid in the passing game in 2018.

During his time in Dallas, Williams proved that he has big-play ability, and Winston loves to take shots downfield. You cannot merely replace a guy like Evans, so it is going to take a major effort from the likes of Williams and Jackson in 2018. In 2017, Tampa Bay was the best team in the NFL to not make the playoffs, but Winston will make sure that is not the case again this season.

Tampa’s time is now, and with Drew Brees gone in New Orleans, the Bucs should challenge the Atlanta Falcons for supremacy in the NFC South. Williams is a young player, and likely has his best years still ahead of him. It is an exciting time to be a Buccaneers fan, and Williams will be happy to be apart of their first playoff team since 2007.
