Myles Garrett

Defensive End, Arlington, Texas

During the 2017 NFL Draft, the Chicago Bears missed out on getting Myles Garrett of Texas A&M by only one pick. However, he would go on to play only one season with the Cleveland Browns, as the Bears grabbed him with the No. 3 overall pick in 2018. The 2017 AFC Defensive Rookie of the Year, Garrett will now don the black and orange of the Chicago Bears, who struggled mightily during the 2017 season.

Chicago paid Mike Glennon some good money to be their starter in 2017, but consistently looking over his shoulder at Mitchell Trubisky hurt his production. Trubisky did finally get to see some playing time during the latter part of the season, but he looked like a rookie. The good news for Bears fans was that Jordan Howard ran the ball well, and the defense was actually better than expected.

Bringing Garrett into the fold will instantly upgrade the Bears defensive front, which they are going to need in the pass-happy NFC North division. Matthew Stafford and Aaron Rodgers shredded the Bears in 2017, so having a pass rusher like Garrett will definitely help the team get after the opposing signal-callers in 2018. Garrett was as good as advertised during his rookie season, and proved he plays with the kind of grit that Chicago Bears fans expect out of their defensive linemen.

Heading into 2018, the keys to the car belong to Trubisky, who should take a nice step forward. With Garrett and Trubisky, the Bears now have the top picks from the 2017 NFL Draft, so there is no reason they cannot be much better in 2018. The stage is now set for a rebirth in Chicago, with two very good young players at the forefront of the comeback.
