4. Dewayne Dedmon, C, San Antonio Spurs

The Warriors will definitely need look to add a center because it’s doubt fulthey’ll end up re-signing Zaza Pachulia and JaVale McGee. They have some younger guys in the fold, in Kevon Looney or Damian Jones, but they’ll definitely need a veteran presence out there.

Often the Warriors don’t even play centers, they typically go their Hampton’s Five lineup in any moment of stress. The center that they’ll look to add during this free-agent period will be a cheap addition that likely just needs to start the game.

Pachulia wasn’t overly effective this past year, but he still got early minutes and was an energy player. The center isn’t going to get plays called for them, but will need to fight for rebounds, defend their butt off and play hard every minute.

After playing for Golden State briefly in 2013-14, could Dedmon make his return to Golden State? This past season, Dewayne Dedmon was exactly that for the San Antonio Spurs. He averaged 5.1 points and 6.5 rebounds in a lot of energy minutes for the Spurs.

Head coach Gregg Popovich had a great rotation of big men, so Dedmon didn’t get as many minutes as he should have. He would be a great fit with Golden State, with some athleticism and rebounding skill he showed in San Antonio.

Golden State isn’t looking for an offensive center, they just need someone who can rebound and play defense. Dedmon fits the bill and would come at a price that would make Bob Myers’ life a lot easier.
