3. Danilo Gallinari, SF, Denver Nuggets

Again, let’s take a look at another small forward if the Clippers were to swing and miss on Gordon Hayward. Danilo Gallinari has been effective in his role, but has been vastly underrated because he’s been playing for a mediocre Denver Nuggets’ squad.

Gallinari is only 28 years old and will be heading into his 10th season in the NBA. After being traded from the Knicks to the Nuggets, the European star has come alive these last few seasons. He scored 18.2 points and grabbed 5.2 rebounds per game, while shooting a career-best 45 percent from the field and 39 percent from 3-point range.

The Clippers cannot afford to start a bad player at such an important position like small forward and they need to address it in free agency if they want to improve their team. Gallinari is one of the top forwards on the market and has stated that Denver isn’t his first option in free agency.

For a small forward, the Italian isn’t all that small. He stands 6-foot-10 and can certainly slow down opponents on defense with that size and length. Would he give up the Rockies in Colorado and come to the big lights of Los Angeles.

It’s certainly possible, hence why the Clippers have to be aggressive in their pursuit of Gallinari this summer.
