1. Otto Porter Jr., SF, Washington Wizards

Now, here’s the best option for the Clippers in free agency. They need to add a starting-caliber small forward and here’s a perfect, young option.

Otto Porter Jr. is only 23-years old and scratching the surface of his potential. The only catch is that he’s a restricted free agent and the Wizards will likely not let him walk via free agency. The Clippers should still strongly pursue the Wizards’ forward.

In 80 appearances for the Wizards, Porter averaged 13.4 points and 6.4 rebounds while shooting a career-best 52 percent from the field and 43 percent from 3-point range. That kind of scoring and shooting ability will help the Clippers grow. Since he’s only 23 years old, the Clippers would also have a few years before he hits his prime. They can use that time to put together some more star players around him.

He’s also been a solid defender in his career and at 6-foot-8, he certainly has the size to be able to defend the position. The Clippers should be at the front of the line for Porter Jr.’s services during free agency. It’s all dependent on if Washington will match or not, but the Clippers should still sign him to an offer sheet.

The Los Angeles Clippers are at a pivotal point in their franchise, with Paul departing and Griffin possibly following him. They’re at the end of an era, but if they choose to make a quick rebuild, they should pursue these free-agent options.
