Memphis Grizzlies: Bojan Bogdanovic

It feels like the Memphis Grizzlies are looking at the same story year after year as they enter NBA free agency. They always seem to be the team that is in dire need of shooting, do something to address it — yet never do quite enough to fully cure their woes. Having Chandler Parsons get healthy would obviously be a huge help in this capacity, but it’s hard to count on that even remotely at this point. Thus, they’re left needing to add shooting in free agency.

Though he hardly fits the mold as a defensive player, Bojan Bogdanovic might be the most attractive option for them in terms of adding an outside shooting threat to the roster. After spending two full seasons with the Nets to start his career, he was then dealt to the Wizards before this season’s Trade Deadline. Throughout three seasons, he’s a career 36.9 percent 3-point shooter and a quality overall scorer in terms of efficiency, converting at a 44.3 percent clip. He’s also a versatile wing with size that can rebound relatively well, averaging 4.4 per 36 minutes for his career.

One possible snag that the Grizzlies could hit is simply getting outbid for Bogdanovic. They are somewhat strapped against the salary cap after paying Mike Conley handily. With that being said, he’d be a great fit in Memphis that would address their biggest weakness. If they plan to remain a playoff threat moving forward, he’s the type of player they must add this summer.
