Miami Heat: Danilo Gallinari

When it comes to the Miami Heat, there are a lot of big names being thrown around. They have the opportunity to throw big money at these types of players, and they also have a need. That’s why you’ll see players like Paul Millsap and Blake Griffin linked to them. However, in terms of players that would be the best fit for what they’ve been doing in Miami, a guy like Danilo Gallinari would seemingly have a much bigger impact in improving the team upon arrival and fitting in.

The big knock on Gallinari has been his health. He’s played more than 70 games in a season just once since leaving the New York Knicks (2010-11 season) as part of the return package in the Carmelo Anthony trade. When he’s on the floor, though, it’s hard to ignore what an offensive weapon he is. A career 37 percent 3-point shooter and a guy who was phenomenal in the 63 games he played with the Nuggets this past season, he would be a great complement in the Heat rotation, providing them with elite wing scoring when on the floor.

What also makes me more in favor of Gallinari over some of the other big-name guys on the market is the fact that he shouldn’t be quite as costly. Yes, Gallo is going to cost a pretty penny. But with his injury history and lack of elite defense, it’s hard to see him actually getting max money. That all makes him a highly attractive option in South Beach.
