Milwaukee Bucks: C.J. Miles

Especially with the progression that Giannis Antetokounmpo made this past season, many people will have the Milwaukee Bucks circled as a dark horse coming into the 2017-18 season. While there’s most certainly a path to that happening, there are number of areas that they need to address before it can conceivably come to fruition. Most pressing of those needs entering the offseason will be to add more quality shooting to their rotation. That’s where a strong veteran shooter like C.J. Miles would be a great fit for the Bucks.

Miles is coming off of his best of his three seasons spent with the Indiana Pacers, and arguably one of the best of his careers. He set a career-high with his 3-point percentage, hitting on 41.3 percent of his attempts. As a career 36.1 percent shooter from long range, he’d immediately address one of the biggest weaknesses for the Bucks.

One of the themes you’re also probably starting to notice is the idea of putting veteran players on young teams. Though there’s a plan for these young teams like Milwaukee that are building through the draft and staying young, there’s something to be said for having that type of experience in the locker room and on the floor. Players like Miles can offer invaluable advice while contributing to making the team better on the floor. There’s definite reason to be excited about the prospects of the Bucks moving forward. But adding a guy like Miles would help them realize their potential quicker than they otherwise would.
